When a covering Emergency Services Officer (ESO) arrives on site, there’s often a number of site specific information that we can take for granted and forget to include in their information pack.
I have seen similar things crop up on other sites and admittedly have been guilty of it in the past when working full time on one site.
These oversights are symptomatic of a missing process.
That’s why we developed our ESO Coverage Setup Template.
It’s not a site induction. It doesn’t try to cover everything. What it does is provide the specific structure and information that ESOs need to be effective from the first day on your site.
This includes:
Key contacts and escalation flow
Minimum weekly and daily tasks (equipment checks, comms testing, documentation)
Pre-deployment briefing content
Site pack essentials (radio channels, ERP summary, etc.)
Whether you're a HSE Manager, a Site Supervisor, or managing ESO coverage through a contractor, this template gives your team a clear starting point to perform their role on site.
